The plants died

After 2 weeks of planting, Alyssa's plant died.  We did not see any tomato and Breanna's plant did not grow at all :(

Bells

Breanna was required to make a musical instrument for her medisaurus class.  We bought some small coloured bells from Popular.  Tie it together using the soft wire and loop it together.  To make it nicer, we used a cartoon tape and tape it around the upper portion.

The other day, while we were shopping at Robinson @ Centrepoint, a lady suddenly went up to me asking if she could make a cartoon drawing for the girls and we would get to keep it as souvenir. She was engaged by Robinson to provide this free service.  The picture was nicely drawn.

Breanna also get to make the sushi roll using the sushi maker set which was selling in the shop.

Mummy's Birthday

2 weeks ago, it was my birthday and Daddy brought us to have seafood dinner at Red House Seafood Restaurant @ East Coast Seafood Centre.

We ordered my favourite chili crab, lobster noodles. Man tou and Steamed prawn.  The bill came up to be S$193. But it was delicious.

On the following days, the girls went to decorate a birthday cake for me @ The icing room.  And they had great fun decorating them.

In the evening, it was a simple cake cutting celebration with the family.

How to make a Bread

Teacher Alyssa will now show us how to make a bread (Should be sandwich).

Kite Festival

We were walking past Tampines Mall the other day and received this pamplet and a free kite.  It was promoting Kite Festival.

It's happening this coming Saturday & Sunday (18 & 19 September).  Think it will be loads of fun.  More information can be found here.

Mainland Tropical Fish Farm

Daddy wanted to buy some plants for his fish tank so we went to the Mainland Tropical fish farm @ Pasir Ris farmway 1.

While daddy was selecting the plants, the girls were busy feeding the duck and the fishes.  Fish food can be bought @ $1 for a small pack and it can feed both fishes and duck.

There were also other activities there - prawning, fish spa, longkang fishing and there is even a section on the poultry.

Apparently, there was people there celebrating birthday as well.

This was what we bought that day and how it looked like in our fish tank.  Daddy was so proud of his fish tank now.

Superstar!!

The girls had this crazy idea that they dressed up and posed as superstars and I am supposed to take lots of pictures of them.  They even bother to change clothes and there were also pyjamas girls! Enjoy the pix...here it goes

FSS and Yamaha Grade 9 Piano Exam

This was alyssa practising her song 5 days before her FSS.  It was great improvement.

On 4th September, Alyssa went for her Fundamental Skill Survey (FSS) @ Yamaha Tampines.  Alyssa was sitting outside the classroom waiting for her turn.  It was a short test which took about 10 minutes.  The test included playing 2 self selected pieces on the electone, chords hearing test, sing a verse of the self selected song and solfege singing.  We were allowed to go in with her and she did it very well, although her singing could be a little bit louder.  Overall it was good but the result will only be out in 2 weeks time. Coincidentally, the tester happened to be Breanna's piano teacher. Not sure if she will grade her better..haha

2 days later, on 7th September, it was Breanna's piano practical exam for Yamaha Grade 9 which was also @ Yamaha Tampines. As it was a weekday and I was not able to take leave to accompany her there, 奶奶 brought her there instead. I called her immediately after the exam and the first thing she told me was "very scary"! She gave me all the details and it seemed that she had done quite okay except for the sight playing and rhythm hearing :(  Just hope for the best then.  During the exam, the student was required to play 2 songs (out of 3 self selected pieces), sight playing, chords improvisation, chords hearing as well as rhythm hearing whereby the tester will play a short rhythm and the student was required to play it back.

天下 End of Term 3 review

Last Friday, 天下 organised end of term 3 review which was a mini concert whereby the children performed what they had learnt during this term.  It was an hour performance and each class got to perform 3 儿歌 each. There was also a short play put up by all the teachers which was pretty funny.

This was one of the performances that Alyssa's class put up with : “六十六岁的陆老头”.

Alyssa' Parents-Teachers-Gathering for Term 3

Alyssa's school held the parent teachers gathering today.  There was also a mini exhibition to showcase the children's artwork. The purpose of the gathering is to encourage the parents to meet up with the teachers as well as viewing the exhibits.

Alyssa drew this for the theme "Children of the world" following the pictures on the right.  It's quite good isn't it?

Some of the artwork were really impressive and creative.  Although it was the parents or teachers helped to make the models but I was still impressed with their creativity.
