Planting time

I had bought the kids mini garden set for the girls from the spree.  Breanna chose to plant Lavender while Alyssa wanted to plant corn but got Tomato instead.  Firstly, we had to soak the seeds in warm water for at least 12 hours.

Pour all the medium into the pot.  Pour water over it.  Then plant the seeds into the medium.  Now we just have to wait patiently for 7 days for the seeds to grow. Hopefully we will be able to see some leaves by then.

Daddy's Breakfast

Today, Daddy cooked western breakfast for us.  Got egg, cheese, sausages and ham.  Yum Yum.

Baby Shannon's 1st Birthday Party

Last Sunday was my colleague's baby, Shannon 1st birthday party.  The kids were excited and made the birthday card for her way before the actual day.  These were the cards that were made by them.  They knew that Shannon loves Mickey Mouse and so they drew it on the card.

The girls were following baby Shannon around during the party.  They really love the baby a lot.  

They also got a goodies bag each.

Zoo

Last Saturday, we went to the zoo after getting the complimentary pass from my company.  We started with a breakfast with the wildlife.  It was a 1.5 hours buffet breakfast whereby you can have pictures taken with the Orang Utan as well as the snake.

In between the breakfast, we got to walk over the road and watched the elephant bathing.  We can also feed the elephant at $5.

After breakfast, we walked around.  The girls chose to feed the giraffe instead. It costs $5 per basket of food and only available at certain timing.

Finally, we came to the "Rainforest Kidzworld". We bought the 3 for $10 package for the kids which include pony ride, horse carriage ride and carousal ride.

We watched the animal friends show and the girls got up close with the dogs after the show.  Followed by waterplay for the girls.  They were enjoying themselves running around and playing with the waterslides.

Piano Practise

The girls will be having their piano exam in 3 weeks time  Alyssa will be taking the Fundamental Skill Survey and Breanna will be taking her Yamaha Grade 9 practical exam.  They were practising their pieces and apparently still need some improvements.

Live the Dreams, Fly the Flag....Happy 45th National Day!!

Last Sunday, there was a National Day celebration at the pool deck.  There were a series of events such as Children's Art competition, Water games, Flea Market, Basketball Competition and Lucky draw as well.

We got Singapore flag tattoo on our hands.  Handheld flag and clappers were given to the children. There was also free soya milk for residents by exchanging with coupons that were sent to our letter box. 

There was lion dance to welcome the MP, Mrs Lim Hwee Hua. Free buffet meal was provided for all residents.  However we did not eat as we do not want to squeeze with all the people.

Meet Charming and Jasmine

The girls finally have their first pet. It is a terrapin.  Breanna got a male terrapin and called him "Charming".  Whereas Alyssa got a female terrapin and called her "Jasmine". The girls loved these tiny animals so much and kept holding it up.  They even talked to the animals and tried to discipline them when Jasmine and Charming tried to escape from their hands. 

Why was Alyssa crying?

Why was Alyssa crying? Was it because she wanted ice-cream or was she being naughty? No.  The answer was that she was sad that the Mummy guppy had eaten up its baby guppy. That night, the mummy guppy had given birth to 3 baby fry.  But it ate them up quickly just after they were borne.  Alyssa was very sad and mad with the Mummy guppy.  She thinks that it was very cruel of the Mummy guppy to do that.  She was such an empathy girl in which I was glad to see that.

Making Sandwiches

Today 奶奶 and all the 3 阿伯 are coming to our house. We made some shaped sandwiches for the guests. The girls were busy making the sandwiches.

Breanna used the sandwich cutter and carefully cut out the shape on the bread, ham and cheese.

Alyssa decorated the sandwiches with eyes, mouth and whiskers with sesame seeds and cut out from seaweeds.

They had a great time making these sandwiches. These were our final results.
